One of the great things about My Memories Suite is being able to work with two page spreads. But have you wondered how to make a title or embellishment go seamlessly across two pages? Here’s a quick and easy method for building a two page spread from an existing page and adding the spanned title.
Start with a single page that has room somewhere in the middle for your title to go across. This is a page from my Love Sweetly Template, available exclusively in the store at My Memories.
Next, build the title that will go across both pages somewhere on your page where you can see it. In my example, I copied and pasted the bracket journal mat for the title to sit on.
Next, move the title over so that it is only halfway showing at the right edge of the page. You may have to estimate it a little bit – this bracket mat made it pretty easy to see where the halfway point was. You will have a chance to adjust later on.
Now for the MAGIC! In the bottom of your workspace, where the thumbnails of your pages are showing, RIGHT CLICK on the image of the page you are working on and choose Insert Duplicate page Mirrored. You will get a mirror image of the page with your title clipped in half and lined up in the middle of the page! Next, just swap out the pictures from the left page with whatever pictures you want to use on the right side.
Just to add a little more interest, I also copied and pasted a few of the embellishments from the page around the title. Now you can view the album to see if everything lined up nicely. Choose View –> View Album from the menu and have a look! If anything needs to be pushed left or right a little bit, go back to the page in your workspace and just use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scoot it over a bit.
Here’s what my finished two page layout looks like:
NOTE: Because of the page bleed needed to print in bound books, this type of layout is best suited for individual page printing.
Tomorrow I will show you how to use My Memories Suite to create a stitched together 2 page spread like the one shown above that can be displayed on the web in places such at the My Memories Facebook page and gallery. It’s so easy!
