I am excited to announce that I was voted the First Place Winner last weekend for Scrapable’s Digi Summer Getaway. I have to give a big shout out to store owner Bev (NewE Designz) and her entire site team for putting together a really great event. There were instructional workshops, games, prizes and the final round of challenges. The team did a great job of welcoming us campers and providing us with inspiration and activities. Everyone I came into contact with was so pleasant. It was such a fun mental break from designing and a recharge of creativity for me. I was able to create 11 digital scrapbook pages for this event – more than I’ve scrapped for months!

I was given a prize of $460 in digital products of my choice from 40 different designers and stores. WOW, right!!?? I’m still shopping!

Here are the layouts I created to win the grand prize.

Round 1 – Create a layout about someone special in your life – who is important to you or who you like to spend time with.

Journaling:

Dear Jesus, I miss the time we have spent together in the garden of my heart. It’s not because you have left me but because I have let the cares of this world and the immediacy of every day life clutter my time and my soul. I have let what’s less important crowd out what’s truly important. I remember all the times you have met me right where I am – during quiet times in the morning, at retreats, in prayer ministry, on the worship team and all the times you have quietly spoken into my being just because you love me and wanted to bless me. I want to be with you and dwell in your Spirit but I need more than just my willpower to stay in your presence. Help me find my way back to you. Keep me close. Take me back to your garden and grow me again.

I started out with a completely different page than this. It’s actually on this layout right below the glue bottle. But then my mind just got going in a different direction as it is apt to do LOL. I was thinking about how much fun I’ve had and how much I learned so I made this with all the layouts I did for the summer getaway.
